Just found this funny quotation [some time ago I used it in my another personal blog] and put it as a heading of this post :D I'm now watching Битва экстрасенсов 11th season [our local TV chanel is showing just 10th season now] :D Just copied old photos from my mobile phone to computer and wanted to show you some of them. Random moments - like my view on different things & people [who don't know that I'm taking photos] :) *sorry for the quality*

Fantastic book in Finnish for identifying insects at Kolka :D There were no books in Latvian or Russian, only one book in English and one in German [they were always taken, so it was no chance to get them], so I had to read this one :D Was really funny to read it, for me it's hard to understand even simple texts, not talking about scientific words, but when I read something loudly or translated even few words to other people, they were like `how do you understand this?` :D

This one I like very much - it's last Friday in a bar `Prieks` [or `Joy` in English :D ] with Gerda :) Was very great night, I was dancing like crazy for 4 hours :D

And today, as it was nothing to do, I tried to do French manicure :D Sorry for the quality of this photo, as my camera is now in Turkey, but I really like my nails, even though I tried this for the first time [I always use just one colour and do it really rare] :)

Today is a perfect weather outside, but I'm sitting home again, listening to Nightwish [videos from concert `End Of An Era` - they're sooo great, I wish Tarja was still singing with them].

As always, I'm starting this post with complaining about life. I really wanted to go to Rovaniemi in August with my best friend, but she will have to pay for university, so she has no money to drive somewhere. And my parents will go to Turkey tomorrow. So I will be alone here, thinking about life again. Hate that moments.

Anyway, main idea of this post was to show photos from Kolka, as I promised.

It was third week in Kolka, we had hydrobiology, so we were catching fish ^.^

And then we had to measure every fish and count them :)

This is our Sea God, I like his feet, they're real :D

On 13th July, when I had name day, we had to go to the forest and dig a hole there :D We had four groups, and in our group me & Anžela were digging, and we finished first, even faster then groups where guys were digging, lol :D

After lectures we had to go to different places, catch insects there, measure trees and other stuff like this, to write our works [also in groups]. In this photo is our meadow :)
And one day we went to Bažu marsh - in 1992 there was a massive fire, everything burned down, and now there's a nature reserve, where nobody can walk around without special permissions. We got these permissions, of course, and had an excursion there - we had to walk 25 km :)

There we found Coronella austriaca - third snake species in Latvia, it's quite rare.

Also common sundew were growing there, never saw them in nature before :)

At the seaside, we had to walk 11 km home :D
And on the next day we also had an excursion, wasn't so interesting, but we caught viper :D

And we also saw cormorant at the seaside :)

Also one day there was a massive thunderstorm, and few of us went to the seaside to see it - I never saw something like this in my life :) This photo is taken at 0:26, but it's so light like it is a day :)

My beloved country ♥

Hello everyone! :)

As I've finally returned home and copied all photos to my computer, I can start writing new posts in my blog :) Actually, I'm not in a mood now, after Kolka I have some kind of depression [I want to return to nature, sea, playing volleyball & all those fantastic people], so to change it my first post will be about Finland ♥ I was in Helsinki on 23/24 July, these were two AWESOME days of my life :) I went there, cause I found out that Red Bull will organize a street show [Red Bull Show Run], and there will be Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastien Loeb.

How could I miss a chance of seeing my favourite F1 & rally driver ever, person, who I adore since 2001? I finished all my works at Kolka faster, persuaded my groupmates to answer practice work earlier than other groups, went to Riga, bought tickets [I was running around like crazy that day] and at the evening went to Tallinn with my mom :)

It's been a long time since I wrote here for the last time... Finally studies here at Kolka are over :) I was here six weeks and passed 3 different courses - botany & zoology, field ecology practice and protection and ecology of unvertebrates ^.^ Now I don't want to write much - other photos [also from Finland] I will put here when I'll get home; now just one photo with all the fantastic people who were participating in this unvertebrate course ^.^

One more fast post from Kolka :) I'm trying to write at tumblr every day, so here will be few last posts from there :)

First one is about bird watching, when we woke up at 4 a.m. Saw really beautiful sunrise, few rare bird species, was really great & it wasn't hot at all [here sun is shining every day, so it IS hot] :) On last photo is Kolka's popular white crow, have you ever seen something like that? :D

Second post is about the day when my best friend Linda with her boyfriend arrived, we spent all day together, caught grass snake & a lizard, was really fun :D And a wasp bit me for the first time in my life :D

And yesterday we had suck a big party here! :D Biologists from other courses arrived & also local guys went to our fire, everybody got totally drunk & we were acting like crazy :D Also on previous evening we were learning for a big test about forests [we had to learn all plants & also mosses and lichens in Latin, but they really look the same!] and writing funny thing on walls :D So in today's post first photo are with our text `tick in the back - bad for the tick`, next ones are from the party [on first one it's me & Baiba, on the second one it's me near Baiba's bed, when she `disconnected` & we put Arthemisia campestris on her bed, so she would think that she collected plants at night and just doesn't remember anything [how sick is that? :D ]]. And the last photo is from today - as all our room is half-sick, our teacher gave us garlic & we were eating bread with it :D

Hello, everyone! :)

I'm glad to tell you that I'm now at Kolka with all my biologists, we are having a wonderful time & I will stay here for at least a month :) Weather is amazing, no clouds at all, it's hot and my back is already red from this sun, as we have lectures outside & also today we were swimming and chilling at the beach :)

Yesterday all day was free, today we had two lectures and an excursion at dry forests, tomorrow we will wake up at 4 a.m. and go to watch birds :D And also starting from tomorrow we will have tests every day, but everything will be good, I'm sure :)

As I'm getting internet from my friend & I don't want to reach limit, I'll post photos & text in Latvian at tumblr, if you are interested, you can translate it [but main things I also write here, so it's no need to read it].

There are two photos with our room, we have 6 beds there [I just didn't want to take photos of just beds without anything else]. First one [with deer] is Alina's bed & door with a funny boot [Baiba's bed is near, so if somebody hits the door, she will probably be hit by this boot, lol :D]. Second one is my [on the right] & Sandra's [on the left] bed :D Nice wall paintings, I'll also paint something like that when I'll have time :D

The only thing is that we have many insects there, and their bites are really painful, mosquitoes never hurt so much as here! :D And I also got a tick today, great.

Friday night I also was out with my friends :) It was so fun, we were dancing in a park [as always] & singing weird songs [everything is captured on my camera, but these videos are not for posting in the internet, lol :D ] till 6 a.m., people definitely thought that we were completely drunk, but we were not :D Just two photos this time, as all others are without me :)

And on Saturday I went to my cousin's graduation :) She's going in a Russian school, so there were many songs about finishing school & I almost started to cry, as I understand that I will never go to school again, that I'm 19 and I still haven't reached in my life something that I'm proud of and that I want...

Was a good day, we found a snail that is a species of 0 category in Red Data Book of Latvia & also protected in all Europe, and a butterfly that is also protected in Europe [I just don't know their English names]. And I also found black viper, when I saw just its tail I thought that it was a grass snake, and it was good that I wasn't trying to catch it before I saw that it hasn't yellow spots on its head :D And also there were so many mosquitoes, I have 17 bites just on one hand, so its red and swollen, lol :D
Yeah, and also I found out, that on July 24th Raikkonen & Loeb will be in Helsinki, showing everything they can with their cars ^.^ Ahh, I want there so much, but the only chance is to answer my field practice work at Kolka on 23.07 at the morning, and then driving like crazy [if there will be a bus] to Riga, to congratulate my friend on her 20th birthday, and then driving like crazy to bus station to get to Tallinn, then by ferry to Helsinki and hopefully at 10 a.m. I will be there... Any chance?
