Spring is coming ^^

Hi! :)

Just updated my wishlist finally with a photo from Nightwish concert & also my new mp3 player, and decided to write a post, as it may be last (I hope it won't) until May. Today I finally went to my teacher to talk about my course work. It must be handed in at 15th of May, but then teacher will be busy with Masters, so he said I must write everything at Easter holiday next week (until 10th of April), so he could read it and tell me what I'll have to change. It's easy to say that I must finish it already - but I haven't even started! :D And also I have to write 15 pages at ecology about one species (at least teacher allowed me to choose Carabus nitens, about which I already have literature, as it's part of my course work), and this project must be handed in until 14th of April :D Ahh, wish me luck, I hope I'll be able to write non-stop for 8 days (at Easter holiday week), as this week I can't start because of many tests :D

And some photos :) At 16th of March I went to Jelgava, as one of my relatives had his 30th birthday. Of course, I wasn't sitting at the table (as it's boring), but just walking around :D And took part in a race, where everyone had to drink a glass of ice-cold champagne (I didn't know that before), I thought my throat will simply die, as I did it in 3 seconds *and I also hate champagne* :D

This Saturday I went to university, as one girl from Masters asked me to read a lecture about our biomimicry project at Young Biologists School. I remember when I went to this School, when someone read lecture I wanted to eat, sleep and everything else, not listening to something, even if it was interesting :D And now I know how students who read these lectures to us felt - it's funny when you're telling something and almost everybody is so sleepy. At least they asked questions and looked at my friend Sandra, when I mentioned her and told that she was also taking part in this project :D But I'll probably show this presentation once again, when I'll finish all my university works and we'll finally start working for Botanical garden :)
And, of course, I can't afford not to put here a photo with these yummy chocolates from Finland ^^ Brought them to my friends, but ate at least one third of them by myself, so tasty they were :D And also big thanks to Katja for telling me to buy that very yummy anti-stress tea (my mom also likes it) & to Ksu for chocolate tea ^^

And this is a present for my mom (she recieved it at work at her bday on 19th of March) :D Last year she also got cucumbers, but they were so crooked, that I don't know where it's possible to buy so ugly cucumbers :D

And now I think I must finally go and study, plant physiology, biometrics & ecology are waiting for me... See you soon! *at least I hope so :)*

Hi! :)

Sorry for disappearing for a while from here. And I think that I won't have a chance to write here soon, maybe until my winter holidays, starting at 24/12.

Next week will be so crazy - I have an exam at plant anatomy, two tests at German & typology of soil and vegetation, must translate and make a presentation about scientific paper at ecology (about aspen related beetles & bugs in Finland), write ten pages about mutations in genetics. And everything must be written and handed in next week.

And also there's this biomimicry project [we finally started thinking about everything for it, so have to analyze many materials & data] and work at botanical garden, so we'll have to spend 3 hours there next monday to learn something more about plants growing there. And my course work with counting and sorting such a big amount of beetles [must finish until New Year, as nothing is written yet, and this spring everything has to be ready].

And also today one of Latvian banks was closed, so there's no chance to get money these days or pay at shops with cards. And, of course, this is my bank - I wanted to buy many things, and now just have to wait, without knowing anything how and when I'll get my money back, and also I will have to make a new bank account for a money from university [and you can imagine how many people are everywhere, doing it, as this bank was popular].

So I don't know how I'll make it, as I'm totally down right now.

But everything will be ok, right?

Yeah, and also I've applied for a job at Lithuania for this summer [project for three years about habitats].

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?

Today was the most stupid day this year - it's obvious. Yesterday I went to sleep at 8 p.m., cause it was cold, nobody gave me computer or TV and I was really annoyed, and I decided to wake up a bit earlier to study for today's physics test. As a result, I woke up 10 minutes after the time I always wake up on Tuesdays, had no time to eat, banged my hand against something and it started bleeding [nice, yeah], and when I finally got out of my house, I realised that I broke zipper on my jacket. And it's 16 degrees below zero today! Sure, I went back, but couldn't open this zipper to take my jacket off, so I wasted a lot of time for nothing, went to the bus stop and missed the bus. Next one didn't open the door where I was standing, so I was almost late for physics, and for the test I knew simply nothing. I thought that we'll had a lecture first like previous time, but no - we were given tests. I used my book and something that I had put down during some lectures, but it didn't help, so I just did 2 tasks, and one of them isn't correct, cause I took the wrong number :/ I don't remember the day when such a lot of things went wrong, nice.
And I didn't told you about our biology laboratory work last Friday. It was really interesting to see our results - I even didn't realise that in the air there are so many different bacteria & fungi! Here is a pic where I tried to combine together different colonies :)

You really don't know what it's like to be me!

Maybe I should go to sleep now, cause today [or yesterday already] my Mom woke me up a bit early, but I'm sitting here, waiting when my friend will send me our physics homework. Great Friday night, I have nothing to say.

By the way, all this week seems to be strange. On the one hand it's great, cause a lot of good things happened, but on the other hand, it really could be better. Maybe let's start with good news.

First of all, I'm glad to tell you that I passed my biology test, cause in molecular genetics part I've got 8 :) And I think that other part will be better, so there's a chance of getting 9 :) I really hope so, although after this test I even though that I'll have to write it again! The other thing is that this week we have 4 holidays, cause Latvia has it's 92nd birthday! So I can finally relax a bit, and next week we even have no tests, only home reading in English :)

But there are some not so good news, too, and yesterday I even became so angry that I really wanted to throw my computer out of the window! Everything started when I decided to make a movie about this season in F1 and was trying to put all videos together in Windows Movie Maker. It broke down at least 10 times, as the result, I sat in front of this computer till 1 a.m. and today I realised, that this project file which I saved isn't working. So I started to make my film in Nero Vision, spent at least 8 hours on it, then tried to save it. Hah, it was fun, when there appeared a message that I have not enough free disk space, and I realised that half of this movie in bad quality has taken almost 13Gb! So, now I'm trying to save it on my HDD, there is 300Gb free, hope it'll be enough! And it'll finish after 18 hours. Nice.

And today I really don't know what's happening to me, cause when I try to work on my computer, it's simply not working. It's turning off, some error messages are appearing and so on [only Internet is working properly]. And this problem appears on both my computers, although when my Dad is doing something, everything works. This really sucks!

And finally it seems that this week I have eaten a lot of sweets, cause now I have a lot of red spots all over my skin :/ Seems like I'm allergic to something, and if I can't eat sweets now, I definitely won't survive, cause I simply need them to keep myself going :/
